Ballymena LTC Junior Captains 25/26 💙💚💛
Ballymena Lawn Tennis Club are proud to announce that Ashton Mui and Catherine MacDonald will be the new Junior Captains for the upcoming 25/26 tennis season.
Both have been recognised for their long term commitment to the club, through attending regular club play, squads, volunteering, external leagues, competitions and much more.
Ashton and Catherine are superb role models for our junior members, highlighting the opportunities that being part of BLTC can offer you.
Please find below a comment from both of the Captains, where they share their thoughts on what they hope to bring to the role.
Ashton Mui (Boy’s Captain)
“I'm delighted to take on the role of Junior Boys Captain 2025/26. I joined BLTC at the age of six, just wanting to give tennis a go. My journey started as a social player to eventually playing at a competitive level, representing the club in both junior and senior leagues, as well as Ulster tournaments. The coaches made me feel welcome every week, helped grow my passion for tennis and helped develop my skills. I also thoroughly enjoyed the experience of volunteering, BLTC Club Championships, social events and nights out. I look forward to working with the coaches and Junior Girls Captain, Catherine, to plan exciting events and make the experience for all juniors just as enjoyable and rewarding as mine.”
Catherine MacDonald (Girl’s Captain)
“I'm really excited for my role as Girls' Captain this year! I've been part of BLTC for over ten years now and it is really important to me to give back to the club that has done so much for me over this time. For me, BLTC is such a welcoming environment and I am really grateful for the team spirit we have, especially in our U18 girls team, and it is so rewarding to see this shine through across the red, orange and green groups that I volunteer with. I can't wait to see what this year will bring and to work alongside our new Boys' Captain, Ashton.”
