🎾 Junior League and Tournament News🎾

It was a busy Easter break for our junior club.

Firstly it was the start of the Belfast and District Juvenile Leagues.

We have 5 teams this year. 2 Under 18 boys teams, 1 Under 18 Girls Team, and 2 Under 14 teams (1 Boy and 1 Girl Team).

Firstly the U14 boys played away to Portadown Tennis Club. The team made up of Seth, Ryan, Ben and Toby put on an excellent display.

They came away with a 6:0 win, with matches being played in good spirits, and some superb tennis on display.

Player of the Fixture - Toby Waide - For coming through a marathon 90 minute match, winning the dividing championship tiebreak 12:10.

The girls were away to Bangor Lawn Tennis Club with the team being made up of Bianca, Sarah, Stella and Sophie.

Sarah, Stella and Sophie were all making their competitive league debuts and did themselves proud.

Well done to Bianca for winning as the number 1 player in two sets.

The fixture finished 5:1 to Bangor.

The girls should be very proud of themselves with the doubles fixtures all going to final championship tiebreaks.

Player of the Match - Sophie Cumming (12) , for showing excellent dedication to the club, stepping up last minute to play her first collective league match. She showed excellent resilience and a superb attitude throughout.

Over Easter two of our players participated in the Little Wing Pizzeria Junior Open at Hilden Tennis Club

Well done to Seth and Sarah for competiting hard throughout the week, while gaining valuable match experience.

Seth won the T100 Boys consolation final! In a three set match full of excellent points.
