Senior Social Event - Mike’s Cup (Info and Sign Up)

How will the tournament run?
Participants are initially paired at random.
Timed rounds are played on a rotational basis, swapping partners between rounds, and the winner of Mike’s Cup is the person who wins the most games overall.
Any adult member can play in Mike’s Cup irrespective of their playing level. While at club, Mike loved playing with members of all levels and abilities, he really enjoyed offering them advice and guidance.
The rules
- 15-minute rounds. Players play as many games as they can in the allotted time.
- No advantage scoring. If the score reaches deuce, it’s a sudden death point to win the game.
- If the score in points in a game is even when the round ends a sudden death point is played to win that game. Otherwise the team leading when the whistle is blown wins that game.
- Changing partners – at the end of each round losers stay on court, winners move up a court and new pairings are formed.
Participants afterwards can enjoy some light refreshments and a chat afterwards in the sixth form centre .
